If you take the word cocoon and bubble and combine them, they become a "cabubble". That is my new Laurenism. A "cabubble" is a happy place of retreat in your mind when things, people and life are weighing you down. Have you ever been in the midst of a peaceful place IE: movie, music, work and have it interrupted by an outside force?
Example: you are at work doing your job..voluntarily.."by the way" and someone, your boss, co-worker rolls by like a tornado and begins adding to your workload or wanting to gossip. This is when you enter your "cabubble" as you picture your boss as "Shrek" and your co-worker as Steve Carrell from "The Office" and suddenly you feel a big fat smile invade your body and now it's impossible to stay in your office chair because you are laughing so hard! OMGosh I think I was talking about myself!
This method works for me because I have an incredible imagination therefore I laugh easily. Even in the midst of hardship the ability to enter my "cabubble" at will is my saving grace. BTW, it is an extremely successful coping mechanism. Another benefit is that it keeps my stress level down which I believe extends my lifespan.
In your "cabubble" you exist peacefully, you are not moved by everyone else's mood/moods, you feel more alive, and in the end you feel safer because you are the guard standing watch over your mind, your heart, and your soul.
Happy Cabubbling!!

Make It Up!
Another Lauren-ism: If you can't say what you mean with one word, try combining two. For instance, I love monkey's. So I may say that was "monktacular" vs. "spectacular". Everyone says spectacular. That gets no marketing attention. No matter how highbrow your meeting is, you will turn heads with this tactic. Will you get the sale? I don't know, but you will get a huge laugh! Just be sure you have great marketing knowledge behind that lead-in monktacular attention-getter and then...you will get the sale.

Your Life, Your Intention, Your Power!

Do you know how powerful you are?
Do you find yourself over-committed, exhausted and unfulfilled?
Burning the candle at both ends, I had to stop my own little hamster wheel and get off! Realizing I wasn't getting anywhere of any significance, I had to take my life back and create my map for my own life.
How did I get here and how do I fix my focus?
Everyone who knows me knows that I love monkey's.
I saw myself as a little monkey feverishly swinging from tree to tree with no purpose.
Sometimes we get lost in busy work and at the end of the day, we are unable to define the difference that we've made. Personally, I like to leave a positive path behind me and for me, that means leaving my little part of the world better than I found it.
It all came down to being "intentional" about everything I said and did.
I had to STOP running to attend everyone's everything just because they wanted me there! ie: invitations, fundraisers & events that I was forever called to attend?
I realized that all of those committments were taking me away from my purpose, (my family) my intention, (my career.)
You are the only one who possesses the power to turn your world around.
This will set your free...You don't need anyone's permission or opinion!
I began to focus on my intention and my purpose and that is when I found my power!
And finally, it felt good knowing that I had been true to my purpose and intention which makes for a much happier Lauren!
Live your life with intention and you'll find your power
